Musings Vol. 10
When Things Get Hard
Some moments in time feel wild, uncomfortable, and for many of us, overwhelming. In these moments, when things get hard, we often have the urge to move away from the discomfort. We repress our pain, grief, and anger because we believe that these feelings are not ours to feel, or that they would be too painful. Yet when we push away what feels hard, we use up all of our energy and resources in the resistance and end up depleting ourselves.
Acknowledge what feels challenging to you right now. Sit with your emotions, and one by one begin peeling away the layers. As you peel away each layer, you might encounter a layer that feels sensitive and vulnerable. Embrace what you find here with love and compassion. Honor all of the emotions that arise, and allow them to move through you, especially the ones that feel raw and difficult. Trust that they are providing you with valuable information and wisdom and that there is a deeper meaning waiting for you here. A message that you are ready to receive now.
